Californians for Pesticide Reform, the Pesticide Watch, and the Pesticide Action Network (PANNA) are sponsoring a rally on Thursday to mount a visible public opposition to the approval of this pesticide. Scientists have condemned the proposal, which allows for the pesticide to be applied to the soil at levels that could cause miscarriages and cancer as well as groundwater contamination. Please make the trip to the state capitol on Thursday to help reverse the state's course and ensure that our agriculture and our farmworkers are not put at risk. If sufficient numbers of people RSVP, carpools can be arranged. SCHEDULE 12pm: Rally on the West Steps of the Capitol in Sacramento 1pm: Lobby visits with state legislators 2pm: Hearing on Methyl Iodide, state Capitol, Rm. 3191 http://www.pesticidewatch.org/action
