Since 2009, probably the best social media event in London! Certainly the tweetup with the best music, the best networking, and most interesting bloggers! Help Ealing... #ealingunites Coming soon after the attacks on Ealing (Phil Smith stayed up all night defending the R&C) this is going to be an even-more-important-than-usual community event... staff from many other attacked pubs, including The Kings Arms, The Red Lion and The Castle will be here... We will be collecting cash from Tweetup guests for the Mayor of Ealing's Relief Fund. This special fund has been created to give help directly to local citizens and small businesses affected by the recent riots... do something to help the community... The world is watching London on TV and seeing violence. It's only 330 days until @london2012 so let's show the world that #ealingunites and London is a safe - and fun - place to visit! This time there are TWO live bands to entertain us... Starting the evening will be Brace Yourself, local Ealing legends who were named personally by the artist Banksy and will kick off the night with a collection of your favourite hits! [Banksy story here] Then, they are back! The Biblecode Sundays. Fresh from a tour of the USA where they were playing with the legend that is Elvis Costello, and recently supporting Van Morrison at the London Feis in Finsbury Park, the Biblecodes return to entertain you at the R&C! And, though he moved to Brazil at the beginning of the year and left @haydens30 the job of keeping the tweetup alive, @markhillary (who started these tweetups 2 years ago) will be visiting town and enjoying the music and Fullers beer - £9 a pint in São Paulo so that makes even Tom's prices look good! Local MP Steve Pound (shadow minister for Northern Ireland) will be on hand to watch over his constituents along with the leader of Ealing council, the Deputy Mayor, and a collection of councillors - bring your local issues to the tweetup and discuss democracy over a pint! Global technology giants, HCL, are supporting this tweetup so the bands get paid and there is money behind the bar to help you enjoy it even more! Make sure you follow @aniruddho @hcltech and their CEO @vineetnayar Check out Vineet's book 'Employees first, customers second' here HCL are also going to run a competition on the evening where the best uploaded photo gets a special prize on the spot - fancy a nice new Amazon Kindle? Get snapping at the tweetup! Regional brewer of the year 2011, Fuller's, is offering everyone a free welcome pint (we have two firkins to enjoy!) - thanks to @London_Pride 1800 Tweetup begins; time to chat and get a drink/food 2000 Brace Yourself 2115 Biblecode Sundays 2200 Presentation of Kindle for best photo! 2300 Music ends 0000 Pub closes ----- Make sure you are there...! The pub is between Ealing Broadway (8mins from Paddington) and South Ealing tube stations and the 65 bus connects the two stations. Here it is on Google Maps: Ealing Tweetup: what's it all about video:
