Social media has revolutionized political campaigns in the last few years, making it easier for politicians to get closer to the voters without spending a lot of advertising money.

A recent study shows that Twitter can help predict the winners of most races.

Join us for "Hokies Want To Know"- a conversation about the role of social media in Virginia elections- and bring your smartphones & tablets to tweet about it! Refreshments will be served and prizes will be available.

We Want to Know #WW2K is AARP Virginia's voter engagement project to give voters the opportunity to ask Virginia state candidates where they stand on issues that are important to them.

All Hokies and Blacksburg residents are invited to the #HokiesW2K Tweetup on October 9!
